The team at Saint Francis Medical Partners – Surgical Weight Loss is dedicated to long-term weight management and eliminating weight-related medical diseases. We focus on obesity as a chronic disease, which means our goal is to help you achieve a healthy weight and meet your lifestyle goals.

We have expanded services to include Medical Weight Loss Management, which encompasses practical recommendations for dietary and nutrition education, fitness and exercise habits, behavioral changes, and prescription management when applicable.

How does our program work?

Your visit with Nurse Practitioner, Vanessa Williams, includes a thorough review of your medical history and medication list, along with your current dietary and exercise habits. Your evaluation is comprehensive and can include a combination of tools to help you achieve your weight loss goals. This program is filed through your insurance and includes routine follow ups to track your progress and make adjustments as we find the plan that works for you.

What medications do we offer?

If medication is appropriate in your weight loss journey, we prescribe the following options:

  • Phentermine
  • Wegovy
  • Saxenda
  • Qsymia
  • Zepbound
  • Contrave

Prescriptions are sent to your preferred pharmacy, but ultimately, your insurance determines the coverage of your medication. Prescriptions that are not FDA approved (i.e. Compounded medication), are not prescribed through this program.

Is lab work included in the visit?

When prescribing these medications, blood levels need to be monitored as you lose weight. If you have had recent bloodwork, please bring the results to your visit or fax to 901-765-3049 after you have scheduled your appointment. If you do not have recent lab work, you will receive a lab order during your visit.

The list of labs needed include:

  • CMP – Complete Metabolic Panel
  • TSH – Thyroid Stimulant Hormone
  • CBC with DIFF – Complete Blood Count

As the program grows, patients will have access to an in-house dietician so that patients have all tools needed for their weight loss success.

Appointment availability:

Monday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Tuesday: 8:30 am to 3:45 am
Thursday: 8:30 am to 3:45 am
