About the Provider
Dr. Basu Ray holds the position of a Professor in Cardiology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India. He is a former faculty member in Medicine (Cardiology) at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, and has worked as an academic physician, researcher, and scientist at various reputed medical institutions in the United States and India . He has trained in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology in India, Canada, and the United States.
Dr. Basu Ray has been meditating since the age of six and his research centers on the use of meditation and yoga in modern medicine, particularly heart diseases. He is also one of the cardiologists who wrote the American Heart Association’s scientific statement on the use of meditation in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. He has been invited to deliver lectures on his research at many premier institutes in the United States, including Harvard, MIT, Georgia Tech, Cleveland and the Mayo Clinic, and many others abroad. He has been an invited guest speaker at multiple physician organizations, including the Texas Medical Association amd has also been asked to present at grand rounds at many medical schools in the United States and abroad.
Dr. Basu Ray is the author of numerous peer reviewed research articles and book chapters in cardiology. He is the editor of Clinical Cardiology, a book for medical curriculum for subspecialty training in cardiology with over 40 authors from all over the world. He is also the Editor-in-Chief for Cardiac electrophysiology for Stat Pearl, an initiative method to provide continuing medical education to physicians with the US National Library of Medicine under the National Institutes of Health. He also is the Editor-in-Chief of a world’s first multi-authored book called The Principle and Practice of Yoga in Cardiovascular Medicine. The book has over 40 eminent physicians and scientists from all over the world contributing. The book is in preparation and is expected to be published in early 2019.
