After graduating from the University of Aleppo in Syria, Dr. Kamel Madaraty elected to take the path of excellence; he joined Saint Louis University Hospital in Missouri for his Internal Medicine Residency training where he was intrigued by the acuity and severity of the cases there.
Dr. Madaraty started his career as an Internist at St. John Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri, where he strengthened his experience in all spectrums of internal medicine for four years. His love for pulmonary and critical care medicine was enhanced. He picked what he enjoyed most at the time, and continues to enjoy to this day as the field of his subspecialty.
Dr. Madaraty started his training in pulmonary disease and interventional pulmonology at University of Tennessee at Knoxville; he then completed a fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science center in Memphis for Pulmonary and Critical Care. After falling in love with the city, he decided to make Memphis his home.
He joined Saint Francis Hospital and Saint Francis Medical Partners as this creates opportunities to follow patients in different environments from inpatient to outpatient settings. His practice is committed to providing excellent compassionate care to all varieties of respiratory diseases. He also has special expertise and training in interventional pulmonology. This will make it possible to use the endoscopic approach more effectively in diagnosing and treating pulmonary disease.
